In November, a team made up of CPS members of staff played out a 3-3 draw against Cardiff University’s Law Society, one of our sponsored teams, in a 7-a-side football match.
In a competitive and closely-contested encounter, the Law Team went into half-time with a 1-0 lead. A quick-fire brace soon after the break put them 3-0 up, though the deficit was cut to two when CPS’ Nikki Lewis scored a header at the back post on a rare foray forward for him.
Our very own Paul Scholes, Rhys Owen, pulled another goal back with ten minutes to play, forcing the Law Team to stoutly defend their one-goal lead as the match neared its end. Deep into stoppage time, Rhys popped up with his second of the game and CPS’ third to equalise at 3-3.
