Albany Road in Roath is home to pretty much all of the biggest estate agents in Cardiff, including us.
We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Wyburn and Wayne (for the fourth year in a row!) as sponsors of Dragged to Church, a festive drag extravaganza like no other, all in aid of raising essential funds for St. Andrews Church on Wellfield Road. With lockdown restrictions meaning last year’s show had to be streamed online, people have been very eager to get back in those church pews this year, with tickets for the night selling out in just 24 hours.
The story behind the joyous annual event has even inspired a feature film, currently in production, starring BAFTA-winning Eve Myles. The film will tell the heart-warming tale of how the LGBTQ+ community and the Christian congregation in a small Welsh town came together to bring a beloved church back from repair. As a result of this, BBC’s The One Show will be in attendance at the drag show this year to put together a Christmas feature, so if you’ve got a ticket you might just end up spotting yourself on national TV…
We’re also pleased to announce that once again we’re sponsoring Santa’s Grotto at the church. Tickets are £5 per family and it will be held every Saturday through December, starting on Saturday November 27th at 10.00am. St Andrew’s Coffee Court will be kitted out with seasonal decorations too so you can enjoy the twinkly lights and Christmas cheer, shop local at market stalls and treat yourself to a cuppa after the kids get their photos with Santa.

Welsh media personalities and event organisers Wayne Courtney and Nathan Wyburn are the dedicated fundraisers behind these events and are great friends with the church’s current Minister, Reverend Des Kitto. All proceeds will go towards much-needed repair work to restore the church so it can continue supporting its congregation along with the many diverse groups and support networks who use the building. The three previous events raised over £20,000 – a commendable achievement that we’re very proud to be part of.
As well as doing our bit to help the church continue to function as a community hub, we love how these events raise the profile of Roath, encouraging visitors and letting people see all the good things that make it such a great part of the city. We nurture ongoing partnerships like this one that allow us to give back to the community that’s given us so much as a business since CPS Homes was founded over 20 years ago.
If you’re checking out the show or the grotto, why not share a few photos to your socials and spread the word? Let’s make sure these fantastic events can continue to take place each year - and that we can continue to sponsor them!
Take your family to Santa in his grotto from Sat 27th Nov at St. Andrew's United Reformed Church Hall, Pen-Y-Lan Rd, Cardiff, CF24 3PB. Contact Wyburn & Wayne for more details.
