Enjoy splendid food across Roath Park lakes with coffee and cake as well as fresh pizzas, fries and sandwiches.
In the north-east of our vibrant city lies one of the most desirable areas to live – Cyncoed. Boasting some of the highest property prices in the whole of Wales, if you visit the area it’s not difficult to see why this is Cardiff’s most sought-after suburb.
Property developers obviously knew a good thing when they saw it and set about constructing some of the most beautiful homes the City has to offer, with views over the mesmerising Roath Lake. Just take a walk down Cefn Coed Road and you’ll be able to ogle the impressive detached houses that sit along its sweeping, tree-lined roads. Just up the hill from the quaint teahouses and cafes in the village of Penylan - and minutes away from Roath Park - this is the ideal setting for a Saturday afternoon stroll.
But it's not all luxury properties and impressive views. One of Cyncoed's proudest offerings is its education. Two of Cardiff's most popular schools are situated here - Cardiff High and Lakeside Primary – and, because of this, it remains one of the most popular areas for families to settle. But don't be put off by thinking this is a snobby area for you to avoid. Cardiff University has a campus and halls of residence in the area, so with the help of a mix of students, it keeps the area from being too sleepy!
If you want to avoid living too far out in the sticks but you'd still like to enjoy the quiet life, then Cyncoed is the place for you. But fear not, you're just a ten-to-fifteen minute drive until you're back in the hustle and bustle of the vibrant City Centre and its nightlife.
